This year’s retreat is at the Willow Creek Country Club. We will have a hot lunch and beautiful views of the deer out on the golf course. Don’t forget to RSVP! All details are in the brochure:

Join us on Monday, January 10th to learn about helix hats with Mindy Aller. If you’d like to participate in the demo, have 3 colors of yarn and a circular needle or dpns. To get a head start, CO 72 sts, join stitches in a round and knit one row. The pattern calls for babyweight yarn and size 2/3 needles and is intended for a baby, but if you used a thicker yarn and bigger needles you could get a child or small adult hat with the same pattern!
2010 Christmas Charity Tea December 10, 2010

This Monday (Dec. 13) is the Central Iowa Knitters annual Christmas Charity Tea. You have just a few days left to shop for a knitting-related gift ($15 or less) for the gift exchange, decide on what appetizer or dessert to bring to share, and put the finishing touches on any charity knitting you plan to donate that night.
Festivities start at 6:30pm in Valley Church classroom C3. See you there!

The next Central Iowa Knitters monthly meeting will be held on November 8th @ 7pm in Valley Church Classroom C3*, 4343 Fuller Road, West Des Moines. Don’t forget we now meet on the second Monday of the month in Classroom C3 at Valley Church! Join us for a presentation by Sue Lustig on knitting with roving (unspun yarn). To participate in a demonstration, please bring double point needles (US7 or larger is recommended) and a needle size gauge. Looking forward to seeing you there!
*To get to classroom C3, go in Valley Church’s front doors, turn left and go downstairs. At bottom of stairs turn left, go to end of hall and C3 is the last room on the right. You will see the large windows; the door is around the corner to the right. The West Stairs are on the left.

The next Central Iowa Knitters monthly meeting will be held on October 11th @ 7pm in Valley Church Classroom C3*, 4343 Fuller Road, West Des Moines. Don’t forget we now meet on the second Monday of the month in Classroom C3 at Valley Church! Join us to learn about using tshirt and other recycled yarns. To participate in a demonstration of making yarn from tshirts, please bring an old tshirt (one you don’t mind cutting up!) and a sharp pair of scissors. Tshirt yarn is best knit on US13 needles. Looking forward to seeing you there!

This is the first month of our new regular meeting time and location – the second Monday of the month in Classroom C3 at Valley Church! Join us to celebrate CIK’s birthday with some birthday treats, share your state fair entries with the group, and discuss about your knitting goals for the next year. The next Central Iowa Knitters monthly meeting will be held TODAY, Tuesday August 3rd @ 7pm at our regular meeting location, Valley Church on Fuller Road in West Des Moines. We will have officer elections (postponed from June) and, of course, time for show-and-tell for you to share your latest knitting creations. Hope to see you there!
